Being the Center-In-Charge of Bai B. S. Bengallee Girls’ High School, I have found, has added a great deal of responsibility onto my shoulders. But this responsibility has increased my sense of understanding life. It was not just the students, but also the school staff, who admired and noticed my work as a teacher. This noble profession has given me respect, affection, love and a great sense of fulfillment.

It is said that “A stitch in time saves nine”, but my work made me realize that “A right profession in time, makes you very fine”. With the responsibility of a Center-In-Charge, I have secured a chance to be a part of the wonderful stage of ASCII’s activities.

It was a great opportunity for me when I received the chance to become the part of this wonderful stage during the Inter-School Quiz Competition and the Inter-School Project Exhibition. It was really a great experience. Being a Hostess for the two events, was a completely new task for me, but the fun that I had and the confidence which I received, after being on stage was really very great. It makes an ordinary person feel so special when he participates in such activities.

Though the task was new and daunting, I put in a lot of work and prepared myself for the job. Of course my colleagues helped me a lot in the preparations for the great events. But the enthusiasm of the participants, made my stage fear vanish. I just thought of myself as a mediator between the ‘Audience’ and the ‘Participating Students’. My students were my greatest strength - looking at them seated in the audience, my stage fear was greatly reduced. When I stood on the stage, in front of a large sea of faces, for a moment I was just shivering, but looking at the smiling faces of the students I was totally energized to start and complete the task I had undertaken.

My self confidence was at its peak after being the Hostess for these two events. My students were the first to compliment me. Everybody complimented me for a job well done. I was absolutely overjoyed.

My advice to the person, who has to stand on a stage and face an audience, is just be in high spirits and try to give off your best, to prove yourself in the different field.

I would always like to grab an opportunity which would help me to prove my self!!!!
